Replace Siding Behind Electric Box

Need advice for replacing siding piece behind meter box.

Replace siding behind electric box. I feel comfortable with electricity but i m guessing i will have to call my utility company. Then use 1x4 s cut to proper width to frame in the old siding and creating a clean edge for your foam and new siding to butt against. On tuesday the utility company is going to be switching power on the outside of my house from a meter box that is installed into the siding and moving to a new meter box that was installed next to it over the siding. If the meter box can easily be opened and un screwed we take it off and remount it.

I am in the process of vinyl siding my house. Box 20 69 box free delivery with 45 order. Ply gem 8 5 in x 7 5 in white electrical mounting block model eblckh04h 16 46 16 46. I d cut the old siding more or less flush to the box extending the cuts straight down to the bottom leaving the old siding behind everything.

How do you get to those screws. It is my understanding that there are four screws behind the meter which holds the box to the house. The meter just has 4 screws attached to it. White polypropylene mini mounting block for siding model 146100001 10 68 10 68.

But what we do is take metal the same color as the siding and slip it behind the meter on all 4 sides and then j it out. Is this something a person can do without contacting the utility company. The building inspector said that i could not j channel around the meter and that the meter box needs to be removed and installed on the surface of the new vinyl siding.
